Mesenteric cystic lymphangioma – A rare case report; National Center for Pediatric Surgery, Gezira State, Sudan; 2021

Cystic lymphangioma is a benign congenital malformation of the lymphatic vessels. At National Center for Pediatric Surgery, Gezira State, Sudan; 2021; female baby 15 months old age presented complaining abdominal distention 10 days duration. Patient Looks unwell, not febrile, and pale or jaundice; abdomen was distended with full flanks, there palpable mass in epigastric region, no area tenderness organs. Abdomino-pelvic U/S showed very huge abdomino –pelvic cystic multiple thick septa. CT abdomino-pelvic cysts that having variable sizes measuring up to 6*7 cm. An elective explorative laparotomy done. Intra operative findings: Multiple masses arise from root small bowel mesentery matted together enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes involving segment distal jejunum adhesions. Release adhesion, resection along 57 cm jejunum, anastomosis done, homeostasis secured. Histopathology result dilated spaces; lined by flat endothelial cells reactive nodes, evidence malignancy. Features are line associated lymphadenitis. Discussion Conclusion: Our case which presentation as mentioned internationally. Mesenteric Lymphangiomas more common among male unlike our case. Ultrasonography were highly recommended achieve early diagnosis treatment such cases.
